So much is happening right now, but my prayer is that regardless of the oppressive heat and dangerous weather, you and yours are safe and sound, hopefully enjoying a good summertime read! I can remember the summer I stayed with my grandmother in southern missouri (very hot and no air conditioning) but with the fans in the windows, (and perhaps my youth) it never seemed to bother me much. We would walk to the library at least once a week and I would stock up on my favorite books--mostly Alfred Hitchcock mysteries. Reading on that comfy overstuffed couch remains one of the best summertime memories for me. Start today to make those memories of the kids in your household--visit your local libary, enroll your kids in summer reading programs, take time at the end of the day to read to or listen to your child read to you--so important.

Now on to the news...catching up....
When I stated once that my newsletters would be periodic, I truly meant it! Hence, you'll note there hasn't been on in a while. Catching up--I attended the 29th annual RT Booklovers Convention in Chicago in April and as always it was great to see old friends, and meet new ones. RT Convention director, Jo Carol and her crew, once again, served up a fabulous convention with reader events, workshops , author chats, meet and greet events, evening galas and of course the ever growing e-Book expo and Saturday book fair!

Pal and gifted author, Sahara Kelly and I stepped down from our reign as the Faery Court queens in 2012, to pave the way for new events occuring on Thursday night. Sure to be a spectacular evening, 2013 will ressurect a elegant military themed ball , complete with gowns and full dress of some of the military personnel beinmg invited as well as cover model guests in their dress finest. We had a great two years as reigning (raving?) Faery court queens and wish to thank the impeccable court who hung in there with us for the 2012 magical Scottish Fling!

My thanks to the dangerous historical vamps that made up the hosts for the Foxy Dames Club and be sure to come see us again in Kansas City 2013, where we'll present the not-so-innocent gals of Rosie Gulch's Saloon & Parlor House!! Its bound to be great fun and you never know what might happen in the history of the old west!

July 24 * Book Chicks Book Club on Skype. This should be a hoot and a half! Do I really need a web camera?? Ah sure, it will all be worth it to hang with these fabulaous readers who know what they like and aren't afraid to chat about it! We'll be talking about my Victorian London set erotic romance-- The MASTER AND THE MUSES, a great summertime read that was bestowed a 4.5 stars by RT Bookreviews!
